VW AUDI 1.8T 2.0T Gasoline Engine to Chevy Small Block Adapter Kit, Pre-1986

This TD Conversions kit allows you to attach any transmission found on a Chevy small block V8 / V6 pre-1986 engine to any 4 cylinder turbo Volkswagen/Audi 1.8T or 2.0T gasoline engine (2001-2014, newer engines may also work with this adapter kit).

This kit makes the back of the Volkswagen engine look like the engine block it is replacing. This means you can bolt any Chevy small block V8 / V6 pre-1986 transmission to any 4 cylinder turbo Volkswagen/Audi 1.8T or 2.0T gasoline engine (2001-2014, newer engines may also work with this adapter kit).

The 1.8L turbo was available in these vehicles:

-Jetta, Golf, Beetle (2001-2006, MK4)

-Passat (2001-2005) 

-Audi A4 (1999-2005 B5, B6)

-TT (1998-2006 MK1)

The 2.0L turbo was available in these vehicles:

-Jetta, Golf (2006-2014, Mk5 MK6)

-Passat (2007-2014)

-Audi A3, A4, TT, Tiguan (2006-2014)

All VW/Audi 4 cylinder engines have the same bellhousing bolt pattern and crank hub. This means you can install any 4 cylinder gas or diesel engine made by VW/Audi using this kit.

PRODUCT FEATURES

PREMIUM BILLET ALLUMINUM ADAPTER PLATES. We do not skimp on quality, and only use high quality 6061 Aluminum billets. Our tempered 6061 is far superior to the cheap cast non-tempered aluminum adapter plates typically seen with cheaper adapter kits. Our billets undergo a tempering process of heat treating and artificial aging to achieve the perfect strength and toughness for our application.

EXTRA FIRE WALL CLEARANCE. Our 2 inch thick adapter moves the TDI engine forward 2 inches from the transmission bellhousing. This gives you extra fire wall clearance for the TDI vacuum pump and coolant pipe. The transmission remains in the original position, keeping the shifter in the factory position for most vehicle conversions.

HIGH PERFORMANCE CRANK ADAPTER: Our high-performance crank adapters are manufactured from high-strength alloy steel and designed to handle demanding applications. Rated at 800 ft-lbs of torque, these adapters are engineered to deliver the strength and reliability your drivetrain needs.

Crank adapters are subjected to significant stress and repeated load cycles, making material selection and design critical to long-term durability. Unlike aluminum or mild steel alternatives, our alloy steel crank adapters are built with performance and reliability in mind.

TOYOTA DENSO STYLE STARTER MOTOR: Our TDI adapter kits come equipped with a Toyota 4.7L V8 Denso-style starter motor. Known for its proven OEM design, compact size, and reliable performance, this starter is an excellent choice for our adapter kits.

One of its biggest advantages is availability. Replacement starters are readily available and affordable, making future maintenance simple and cost-effective.

MULTIPLE ENGINE CLOCKING POSITIONS. Our 2 plate system allows the engine to be clocked at 0° (vertical), 10°, and 15° degrees for fine tuning engine clearances. The transmission stays stationary while the engine rotates towards the passenger frame rail.
