This adapter plate kit allows you to replace your Willys 2.2L L134 "Go Devil" or 2.2L F134 "Hurricane" engine (1937–1971) with any 4-cylinder Volkswagen or Audi engine.

The most popular swap is the VW TDI (ALH, BEW, BHW, CJAA), but all VW/Audi 4-cylinder engines share the same bellhousing bolt pattern and crank hub. That means you can install any 4-cylinder gas or diesel engine from VW/Audi using this kit.

Premium Billet Aluminum Adapter Plates
We don’t cut corners on quality. Our adapter plates are CNC-machined from high-quality 6061 billet aluminum—not cheap cast or non-tempered alternatives found in lower-end kits. Each billet undergoes a precision tempering process, including heat treating and artificial aging, to deliver the ideal balance of strength, toughness, and durability for demanding applications.

Extra Firewall Clearance: Our 2-inch thick adapter moves the TDI engine 2 inches forward from the transmission bellhousing, providing crucial clearance for the TDI vacuum pump and coolant pipe. The transmission stays in its original location, so in most conversions, the shifter remains in the factory position—making installation cleaner and easier.

High Performance Crank Adapter: Our high-performance crank adapters are manufactured from high-strength alloy steel and designed to handle demanding applications. Rated at 800 ft-lbs of torque, these adapters are engineered to deliver the strength and reliability your drivetrain needs.

Crank adapters are subjected to significant stress and repeated load cycles, making material selection and design critical to long-term durability. Unlike aluminum or mild steel alternatives, our alloy steel crank adapters are built with performance and reliability in mind.

2.2kW High-Torque Starter Motor: Each kit now includes a 2.2kW high-torque starter motor from the Chevy Duramax 6.6L—delivering reliable, powerful starts for your VW/Audi engine swap.

Multiple Engine Clocking Positions: Our two-plate adapter system allows you to clock the engine at 0° (vertical), 10°, or 15°, giving you flexibility to fine-tune engine positioning and clearance. The transmission remains fixed while the engine is rotated slightly toward the passenger-side frame rail for optimal fitment.

(1) Crank Adapter: Alloy steel, rated for 800 ft-lbs of torque. Includes pre-installed pilot bearing for manual transmission kits (where applicable)

(1) Starter Motor: High-torque 2.2kW starter from Chevy 6.6L Duramax

Installation Hardware
All necessary hardware for the bellhousing, crank adapter, and starter is included with the kit.

Note: Flywheel/flexplate bolts are not included. You’ll need to source OEM-equivalent flywheel bolts.

Fitment
This kit is specifically designed to replace the Willys L134 2.2L "Go Devil" (1937–1965) and Willys F134 2.2L "Hurricane" (1950–1971) engines.

It adapts the back of a VW TDI engine to match the bolt pattern and dimensions of the original Willys engine block. That means you can bolt any Willys L134 or F134 transmission directly to a VW TDI engine using this adapter kit—no major drivetrain modifications required.
