This adapter plate kit allows you to replace your Chevy small block gen 2 V8 / V6 1986-1999 engine (non LS engines) with a VW/Audi/Porsche 3.0L V6 TDI Engine. The most commonly used engine is the CATA and CNRB. Other 3.0L V6 TDI Engines will not currently work because the starter does not bolt to the Timing Cover.
PRODUCT FEATURES
Our kit has numerous features that set us apart from the competition.
PREMIUM BILLET ALLUMINUM ADAPTER PLATES. We do not skimp on quality, and only use high quality 6061 Aluminum billets. Our tempered 6061 is far superior to the cheap cast non-tempered aluminum adapter plates typically seen with cheaper adapter kits. Our billets undergo a tempering process of heat treating and artificial aging to achieve the perfect strength and toughness for our application.
EXTRA FIRE WALL CLEARANCE. Our 2.3 inch thick adapter moves the M57 engine forward 2.3 inches from the transmission bellhousing. The transmission remains in the original position, keeping the shifter in the factory position for most vehicle conversions.
HIGH PERFORMANCE CRANK ADAPTER: Our high-performance crank adapters are manufactured from high-strength alloy steel and designed to handle demanding applications. Rated at 800 ft-lbs of torque, these adapters are engineered to deliver the strength and reliability your drivetrain needs.
Crank adapters are subjected to significant stress and repeated load cycles, making material selection and design critical to long-term durability. Unlike aluminum or mild steel alternatives, our alloy steel crank adapters are built with performance and reliability in mind.
We believe your crank adapter should never be the weak link in your drivetrain.
MAINTAINS STOCK STARTER. Our kit maintains the stock starter and flex plate from the 3.0L V6 TDI.
(2) Adapter plates: Billet 6061-T6 Aluminum, 1.9" Thick
(2) Crank adapters: Alloy steel for high performance applications (800ft-lbs torque). Pilot bushing pre-installed for manual kit.
Installation hardware for bellhousing, crank adapter, and starter are included. No flywheel/flexplate bolts are included. You need to use OEM equivalent flywheel bolts.
OEM flywheel bolt size: 6 bolts, 7/16 - 20tpi x 0.900"
Our kit is specifically designed to replace the Chevy small block gen 2 V8 / V6 1986-1999 engine (non LS Engines). This kit makes the back of the VW/Audi/Porsche 3.0L V6 TDI engine look like the engine block it is replacing. This means you can bolt any Chevy small block gen 2 V8 / V6 1986-1999 transmission to this adapter kit.
Compatible Engines:
- V6 4.3 90 degree (V6 60 degree, 2.8 3.1 3.4 will not work)
- V8 5.0L 5.7L
-Early LS 6.0L 1998-2000 with the 6L80e. This combo has a longer crank hub than the 2001+ gen 3 LS engines. All 2001+ gen 3 & 4 LS crank hubs are 0.400” shorter than previous gen motors.
Common Engine codes: L98, L03, L05, L30, L31, LB9
Compatible Auto Transmissions (pre-1999): 700R4, 4L60, 4L60e, 4L80, 4L80e (1998-2000)
Compatible Manual Transmissions (pre-1999): NV3500, NV4500, Tremec T-5, T56
Compatible Vehicles:
Any vehicle with a GM Chevy V6 or V8 engine between 1986 and 1999, the transmission will bolt to this adapter kit.
Transmissions from Gen 3 and 4 LS engines (1999 or newer) will not work with this kit. Instead, please use our LS gen 3 & 4 adapter kit.

Our Adapter Kit is only Compatible with the 3.0L V6 TDI found in the Volkswagen Touareg, Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne. These Engines have the Starter that bolts to the timing cover.
